 "The Mort"
Nicknamed the Mort after a fallen player "Ted Mortenson" who moved to Dubai for a faster lifestyle. He is sadly missed by his Abu Dhabi colleagues since his departure. Ted also known as the "Perry Como of the Middle East" used to extoll the virtues of RETOXING (in fact he was a pioneer in Amsterdamming) before heading back to relatives in Canada.

The arena was constructed as a roller disco in 1990 under the supervision of Shaukhat and Benizere Mohamed Farah. The ice was added later, boards and plexiglas soon followed after two employees were killed by high slap shots from Darrel Hawkins. The Zamboni arrived in 2000 and ever since it has been a dedicated ice disco.
